To Mr. Jacob
and Mrs. Martha,
Thank you for
taking me in as
another daughter and
teaching me a little
bit of everything you
know about cattle
and the land. More
you for exemplifying
a Christian mindset
and setting such a great example for me as
husband and wife, and for being such wonderful
stewards of the land. One day, if I can do half as
much for someone else as you’ve done for me, I will
forever be grateful.
Mrs. Martha, left, with Mr. Jacob and
Sarah on the couple’s Mississippi
beef cattle operation.

DEALER INQUIRY INVITED
opportunity. I left the barn that day,
with two bred cows. Since, I have two
healthy calves on the ground.
This past January I had several
healthy AIed calves hit the ground.
It is always rewarding to see your
hard work paying off. I also had the
opportunity to travel to Phoenix, AZ
to attend my fi rst NCBA Convention
with three fellow offi cers of our
collegiate cattlemen’s association.
Wednesday morning our group had
breakfast with Mr. Brown, and how
wonderful it was to be able to catch
up with him. We picked up where we
left off the last time we saw each other.
Mr. Jacob also happened to be staying
in our hotel, so he joined us too! I
was also able to stop by the Working
Ranch Booth at the trade show, and
meet the wonderful people behind
this great magazine. What a privilege
that was! I was amazed by all of the
people I met during my fi rst convention
and I was thankful for the opportunity
to catch up with other producers
I had met since getting started in
2015. Having said all of that, I would
say the cattle business has been the
most rewarding journey I have ever
embarked on. I get to tell consumers
that I (we as cattle producers) produce
a healthy and safe beef source
that they get to purchase in the grocery
store. It has by no means been
easy, but it sure is nice to have people
like the Megehees and Browns who
are willing to share their time and
resources to help you be successful. I
would do it all over again a million
times, and I am looking forward to
growing my herd over my lifetime,
while continuing to learn.
