Then we went to pick up a new horse named Coco that a friend is letting me have! After that we went to Portales to pick up one of Dad’s colts that had injured his hock and was being treated by our friend Kam. When we got home we were all tired and ready for a bath and the bed. Saturday, January 14 This morning we got up and it was raining so we played in the house. Soon it was lunch time and Mom was moving furniture while we ate lunch. I made my Mimi’s recipe of bread in Mom’s bread machine. Then Mom took us to the feedyard and we rode the feedtruck with Dad. We fed for the evening and made feed sheets for in the morning. We came home and did chores. Mom had made taco soup to go with my bread. Dad wrestled with us befo re bed. I like being able to do all these great things with my Dad at the feedyard. I hope to run cattle when I grow-up! SUMMER 2017 I WORKING RANCH JUNIOR I 15
