Tuesday, September 4
After a long weekend, we headed
back to school. It was a normal
day, but I couldn’t wait to come
home. We were hauling heifers to
their fall pasture today. It took a
while to lead them into the corral,
but they followed my dad in eventually.
We had four loads to haul
to the pasture by my house. They
were really curious about their new
pasture. Finally we headed in for
some supper and to clean up for
Wednesday, September 5
Getting up was hard today; I
really just wanted to stay in bed.
We headed off to school. The day
went by quickly and was uneventful.
We came home and did homework
then we ate supper as a family.
It was a quiet night, so I decided
to play with my dogs Jake and Sally.
It was starting to get dark when my
mom called me into the house.
Thanks for reading about me and
what has been happening around
too. We got them all in the pasture
and my grandma had packed mini
Coca Colas and licorice, so we
stopped and had some. After that
we went back to the ranch to have
some cake and open presents.
there and a little log fell and hit his
head, but don’t worry he is okay, it
didn’t really affect him. When we
fi nally got to the west side, which
took forever, we saw our cows in
the pasture beside us, so we fi nished
up what we had left. When
we got to the gate they were ready
to be let in. We let them in because
we knew that the south side was
good, but we checked that side
after we let them in. They were
happy to be in their fall pasture.
Monday, September 3
Today is my sister Leah’s birthday
and this morning we are
moving the main herd from their
summer pasture to their fall pasture.
We all got up early and we
took our four-wheelers and side by
side and my grandma and grandpa
helped too. My dad called the cows
and they bunched up, ready to go.
They seem to know what’s going
on, one step closer to home.
Things were going good and we
had just a little ways to go when
a bunch of calves got out into our
neighbor’s pasture. My mom told
me to hop on the four-wheeler and
go get them. I had my sister Emily
and my brother Reid running along
